Heather had to say...

I have 7 kids(one is away at college so a different address)  and my husband and my mother (lives in MI) on my Wishlist.  Any of the books will be appreciated, as I have plenty to read.  It is fine that someone in my family gets a book they wanted.

But here are my top books just for me.  The Janet Evanovich books are the only ones I want in ONLY hardback, the rest dont matter.  I hate to spoil a surprise, but  please let me know about WL books you are sending so I can  give you a mailing address if they are for my son  or my mother.  Also so I dont duplicate them in a Swap.   ( which I have done in the same month about 3 times so far)

1. No Chance :: Stephen J. Cannell, Janet Evanovich

2.Blue Cats and Chartreuse Kittens: How Synesthetes Color Their Worlds :: Patricia Lynne Duffy  any version is fine

3.The Family Nobody Wanted :: Helen Grigsby Doss

4. Such a Pretty Fat :: Jen Lancaster

5. Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey and Deborah Chiel

I am VERY BUSY Mother of Many. Quilter, scrapbooker, tea and Latte drinker.  Non-smoker who has cats and dogs.

DEAR Divas, Sistas and other buddies

For the fall $1 store swap :I dont do Halloween, I dont decorate or celebrate,  So dont send witches, bats,  or jack o lanterns, to me.  There are so many other things about fall that you can send me.   Send me candles or tarts, that smell like fall. sunflower items,  things with leaves, fall dish towels.   I like pumpkins without faces so I can use them for Thanksgiving too.  fall socks,  a fall table cloth,  fall dish towels.

What I miss about Autumn.  The smells and sights,  The earth has a smell that is unique in autumn,  like a wet mud leaves smell mixed with the smoke of fire places and the hay being harvested. (You cant buy that at a dollar store.)    Add to that, the smell you get from the foods you make that time of year, pumpkin, apple cider, cinnamon,  ( I guess you could buy that)  But I miss the changing leaves, I have lived in Michigan and  New Hampshire So I know what I am missing.     I like that I can find more things decorated in sunflowers in the fall.

I have been exposed to so many new things via these swaps: reed difussers, tarts, John Frieda No Frizz  hair products, new authors and some great teas.  So thank you.  Trying new things is fun.

To be honest I am an adult and I can buy my own coffee, tea, hair products, office supplies, lotions and clothes, but What I won't  and dont do is >>spoil me.   So send me things that I might not take the time to buy myself. Here are some ideas below.

Due to the number of kids in my family I tend to shop at Walmart, Target and $1 stores for them.  It would be nice to get items NOT from those places since I LIVE there.  I seldom get to go to Ross, BIGlots, Kohls Or Kmart or even the mall.

I WOULD LOVE:

  • Some outdoor patio  lights,  any theme, except southwest, I mean I live here.  Maybe tropical or something.  Thanks for the sunflower outdoor lights.  I love them. Ok maybe another set they were about $20 though.
  •  I do drink all coffee, reg and decaf, whole bean and ground, but would really love to find some DECAF  flavored coffee --besides Vanilla or Hazelnut, it seems hard to find other flavors or varieties.
  • Corelle sunsations salt and pepper shakers, or any sunflower salt and pepper shakers. sunflower silverware
  • I now have 2  tart warmers,  and would like baked goods scented tarts ie cinnamon, vanilla, any baked good NO FLORALS or clean scents just think FOOD.  But you will have to put them in an airtight ziploc baggie they may melt, but hey I am going to melt them anyway right?
  • Magazine Subscriptions: I would like a subscription to  or Mental Floss or some back issues or anything.  I have Pyschology Today, Good Housekeeping, and Readers Digest.
  • SUNFLOWERS on anything:  totebags, purses, XXL Tshirts (not white), clothes,  plates, silverware,  with sunflowers
  • Please DONT send the following
  1. Food, snacks or treats.  I can no longer eat, sugar treats or even high carbs.
  2. Any perfumed soaps, shower gels or sprays, I am having bad allergies lately. I have seasonal allergies, perfume allergies, and senstive dry skin. I dont take baths.(I do shower daily though)
  3. ALLERGIES, Walnuts, Mesquite trees so no BBQ stuff or bacon,  wool, cats,  So no live or dead sheep or cats who have been hand feed a diet of walnuts and bacon.  Thank you.
  4. potholders, coffee mugs,  I have plenty
  5. Magnetic shopping lists for the fridge, my kids ruin them
  • Crafts >>Scrapbooking and quilting. ANY WISHLIST craft BOOKS ON MY WL!! I have TONS meaning plenty of fabric and scrapbooking supplies and embellishments,  but if you scrapbook how a 6x6 page about you for my PBS buddy book. SEND A PHOTO OF YOURSELF AND I WILL SCRAPBOOK IT> I always need roller tape styled adhesives or refills  for scrapbooking.  I love distress ink and stamp pads in all colors.  I could use some new pens/markers. I would like a White, gold and silver PENs.  Gold or silver stamp pads embossing pads and embossing in any colors.
  • Clothes and shoes. It can be hard to find things for strangers you have never met. I do love Winnie the pooh  T shirts, Xl  or XXL not  3x though.   Not in white either. Nothing stays white around here. No flip flops, I already have a few pairs, BUT yes to socks of all kinds.  No wool = allergic.  I tend to wear capris every day.  I am short 5' 3" and it just makes things easier to fit. Sunflower shirts.  No sweaters.  We only have 2 weeks of winter and fall combined.   I have lost weight and my pants dont fit anymore.  I used to wear an 18 and now wear a 16. So cute Capris would be welcomed.
  • Décor:  >>Home décor, my entire house has navy blue carpet.  I decorated the kitchen and TV room with sunflowers. I prefer sunflowers without cows or roosters/hens. My  FRONT room is decorated with pink and blue hearts. (I love hearts) My bedroom and Bathroom.. both  NOW have a Lodge theme with Brown and black  bears, moose etc.  So anything for the new lodge theme might be cute. A pillow or log shelf or  garland  or  whatever. Curtains and closet doors are Chocolate brown in this bed and bathl leave garlands at Walgreen's and they are on sale.  I have plenty of clutter so dont  I need a blue and pink  (with hearts is fine) throw for my front room.  We have a neighbor girl who come over and sleeps on our couch before school, since her dad goes to work at 5am.  I am tired of picking up the blanket each day. Sunflower Throw pillows in  blue (or Green) and yellow only... not with Black.
  • Garden/Outdoors:   NO gardening stuff I kill everthing (except sunflowers) or the heat does. I now have a hummingbird feeder.  I have bird feeders in my back yard.  I like to watch the birds. It relaxes me.
  •  Hobbies: day hiking, I am a girl scout leader, various crafts, ATC cards.
  •  Gift Cards:  Favorite places to shop Starbucks,  Michaels, Walmart, Target, My favorite place to get a Latte is Tully's at Fry's here, which is a KROGERS/fred meyers/king soopers, Bakers/Dillons/ Scotts/Ralphs  grocery store chain in other states. I like them better than Starbucks for taste, price and Every 6th one is free.
  •  Hair: Thanks to the swaps I found  the perfect hair product or SERUM to deal with dry curly hair. Frizz Ease by John Frieda, Dream Curlz, and other stuff in the Frizz Ease line.  But if you have dry curly hair, I would love to try your favorite hair product.  Hair clips with bling or style to pull back my hair.
  •  Jewelry: I seldom wear jewerly except earrings. Jewerly can be such a personal thing, and hard to shop for a stranger.   I like goldtone.   I like dangly earrings with pink or topaz colored crystal beads or gold with pearls or hearts.   I love hearts and sunflowers in jewerly.
  •  7 Kids, yes count, them 7:  Junior 20 (moved out again for good AUG 2008 ) , Troy 18   Back at NAU  for the year.    Bethany 16,  Erika 14, Bobby 11, Garrett 10, Cearra-Monique 9, ! We used to be foster parents, now we are just parents.  Our chosen kids have  Fetal Alcohol Syndrome  and Reactive Attachment Disorders and other  issues.  Our birth kids are just weird, like us. I realize I  have never mentioned my husband.  Paul is a taxi cab driver for his company Paul's taxi. GOOGLE him.   We have been married 20 years.  He is gone alot  and I  take care of the kids and all their stuff and appts and school and , well all of it.  He makes the money so I can stay home and spend time in PBS. not a bad deal.
  •  Kitchen:  Kitchen accessories, color of kitchen, etc. sunflowers, yellow and blue and green.  NEED some sunflower kitchen towels that you hang from the stove or fridge with green or blue toppers. I would love any Large Retangle sunflower table cloth,   Corelle Sunsations plates or  bowls or glass glasses (have enough mugs and saucers, but wont turn those away either), SERVING BOWLS, plastic with sunflowers or corelle in any style or color, sunflower fan pull, I love silverware/flatware with sunflowers.  I only find them at yard sales and Thrift stores, they are not current store items.  One company makes a plastic set.  Those are not what I want.  They dont have to be real silver for heaven's sake.
  •  Music: No music please, I LIKE contempory CHRISTIAN AND 80s music.   I dont listen to my CDS or my ipod, but mainly listen to the radio in the car. Klove and Family Life Radio.  You can always make a donation to them.  I get a lot from listening to the radio. It keeps me sane, it encourages me.
  • You can always send me used DVDs, I am 8izenuff over at swap a dvd if you want to see my wishlist over there. I like romantic comedies mainly and John Cusack.    http://www.swapadvd.com/members/my_lists/wish_list.php
  • LOCAL THINGS I WOULD LOVE:  I like postcards and refrigerator magnets.
  • List of things you DISLIKE, cigarette smoke, email spam (real spam sucks too), cooked hot Oatmeal, Diet Coke or DT Pepsi, hard candy, candy canes, Mint gum, onion dip and sour cream and onion chips ...all make me gag for some reason.   I have never figured out why.
  •
  • Stationery-I have plenty of that.  I need colored sharpies and cute shaped paperclips,
  •
  • Kaboodle list at the encouragement of the Divas.  I think the stuff can be pricey, but it gives you some ideas.  I also like Etsy.   Ebay is another Fave of mine.

I guess the bottom line is send me something that ,I wont take the time to spend the money on for myself.
